RE: Question re: chassis/house battery connect solenoid

From a post of mine last year. "I pulled the board and solenoids. It took a little time but I figured out how to bench test the board. It energizes the solenoid when either battery goes above 13.3 volts and won't denergize until both are below 12.7v. " National Interconnect Solenoid 03/07/07 I did put a switch in the control wire for the solenoid. I control when the batteries are connected. Works fine. I have 630 AH of coach batteries, 2000w inverter and 100 amp charger. I don't put an equalizing charge on the chasis battery and don't try to charge the coach batteries from the alternator when they are at 12.1 volts. From Whittier Alaska, catching Silver Salmon.

RE: Heads UP !! .... computer info

Use the MVP Hosts file. None of that stuff will ever show up. There is no place like 127.0.0.1

RE: Electric step not working

When I got mine out of storage this spring in Anchorage my steps would work only when they wanted to. Traced it down to the motor, no motors available in Anchorage, so I pulled the motor. When I took the motor apart about two tablespoons of water came out. I dried it out, greased it a little and cleaned the brushes and commutator, put it back together, lubricated the steps and it has worked ever since.

RE: steering wheel out of alignment

The 2000 F53 chassis does not have and an adjustment in the alignment to center the steering wheel. If you want the steering wheel centered it must be removed and put back on straight. Don't know what other years are the same way.

RE: Dashboard Schematics

My local Ford dealer printed out the dash schematecs for me when I was installing a transmission temp gauge. It need power and lighting off of the dimmer. Go see if the service dept will do the same for you.

RE: Navigon 2100 Maxx GPS

Navigon has been doing GPS for a relatively long time in one form or another. They made good some bad units and chargers that went out last holiday season. I got one of the $99 2100's for the toad and put the Canada and Alaska maps on it. It has always worked well for me. I use it primarily to get to specific addresses in town, not for long trips.

RE: New batteries from Sams Club - CHEAP

There is a thread here some where about the Sam's 6v's. NOT all of Sam's 6 volt batteries are made by the same manufacturer. Depends on where you are. I got four Sam's 6 volts last year that were made by Interstate. They even had the Interstate label under the Sam's label. They are not all made by Exide. US Battery makes all Interstate 6 volt batteries and they are a good battery.

RE: Cruise Control Trouble Shooting

Take the Ford cruise control recall seriously. The problem has burnt up a lot of vehicles and homes. Most of the fires start when the vehicle is parked. It does not have to be running. There is power to the faulty switch all the time. Lots of info on the forum about it. Instead of getting the recall fix done the previous owner may have unplugged the harness from the cruise kick off switch on the master cylinder.

RE: Who still offers a windows xp laptop

Take a look at the Compaq Presario V6700TX. This one comes with XP, not Vista. It comes with wireless and an option is a Verizon air card.

RE: Airing tires while on the road

I carry a small 12v compressor. I couldn't justify taking the room up to carry around a 110v compressor. I have had to use it once, after we got to Alaska and the weather was cooler. It took a while to get the fronts back up to 90 psi but it got the job done and it was easier than trying to find a place I could get into to get air. Tires would have probably warmed up by then anyway. When it dies I'll get another one.

RE: Rough day at the dealership trying to buy a toad!

I decided on a Honda CRV and I have only bought one new car over the years and I wasn't going to go for new with the toad. I looked for two months before I bought from a '98 from an individual, well taken card of, relatively low miles. It has done fine so far. I like that - Stay at your desk and don't move. Add to that, Just nod when I tell you what I will give you for your car.

RE: HP Printer won't feed paper

The rollers get glazed from all the paper dust. Cleaning them removes the glaze and restores the tackey surface of the rollers.

RE: Coach speakers dont work w/ new tv. See picture.

Your old plug is a mono plug, not stereo. So the connection to your coach speakers is mono. Tip is signal + , outside is ground. Your new mini plug is stereo. The front two connectors on the plug are left and right and the connector that is next to the plug is ground. You can use the plug you have by connection the two front connectors on the plug to the coach speaker signal wire and the coach ground to the ground connector on the plug. OR Get a mono 1/8 mini plug. It will have two connectors. Tip is signal, rear is ground. Either way does the same thing. It turns the stereo headphone output to mono for your coach speakers.
